After a 4-3 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night, the Blackhawks continue their homestand tonight against the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks last played on Thursday night, defeating the Stars by a score of 3-2. Tonight’s contest will be the first of three meetings between the two teams and the only one in Chicago. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 PM central time.
- San Jose ranks first overall in Corsi-for events (1747), fourth in scoring chances (798), and second in high danger chances (357) so far this season. The Hawks will need to deny entries and keep the puck out of their own zone as much as possible otherwise things could get ugly in a track meet against Erik Karlsson, Brent Burns, Timo Meier, Logan Couture, Joe Pavelski & co.
- The Hawks have taken three out of the last four points available. Although they lost in overtime on Friday, their effort and execution were much better than we had seen the previous two weeks. Hopefully they can build off it and string together some wins going forward.
- Jonathan Toews has recorded three points in each of his last two games. He dished two assists and tallied an empty-net goal on Wednesday, then found the back of the net twice and tossed one assist on Friday. Stay hot, Captain.

Laugh It Off
I don’t know what this fan did to aggravate Tommy Hawk on Friday night, but the mascot took exception and roughed the kid up. Now that we know Tommy is a scrapper, I think we need to line up a brawl between him and Gritty.
Tommy Hawk has had enough of you and your bullshit, McFadden
