Coming off their first loss in February, the Blackhawks return home tonight when they host the New Jersey Devils. The two teams last met a month ago in New Jersey when the Devils prevailed by a score of 8-5. Last time they were in action, New Jersey got smacked 8-3 at St. Louis on Tuesday night. They have gone 1-3-1 over their last five contests while the Blackhawks just had a seven-game win streak snapped at Boston on Tuesday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 PM central time.
Three Things
- Blackhawks forward Chris Kunitz was a healthy scratch on Tuesday night so he could play in his 1,000th NHL game on home ice. His return to the lineup will leave winger Brendan Perlini as the odd man out of the forward group.
- The Devils will be without one of their top three scorers in Taylor Hall (11 goals, 26 assists – 37 points) again for this matchup. Kyle Palmieri (24 goals, 18 assists – 42) points and Nico Hischier (16 goals, 24 assists – 40 points) will be the top threats the Blackhawks need to keep an eye out for.
- Patrick Kane recorded an assist on Tuesday night to extend his point streak to 15 games. We discussed this topic in Episode 20 of Four Feathers, which just dropped yesterday.
