Beer Review: Founders Green Zebra

If you are a fan of a tart beer, look no further. Founders Green Zebra is everything you want in a Gose and luckily for you, they have just released this delicacy in a 15 pack.

If you are a fan of a tart beer, look no further. Founders Green Zebra is everything you want in a Gose and luckily for you, they have just released this delicacy in a 15 pack.

Green Zebra pours a deep golden yellow with a short white head that leaves no lacing.

It containts smells of watermelon candy and crisp malt and some notes of sweet cream, too, which only add to the unique marriage of sweet and savory notes here. As promised, plenty of lightly salted and juicy watermelon. It reminds me, in a way, of watermelon Pop Rocks; in spite of its sweeter tones, there’s a slightly funky, tart underbelly to this one as well.

Mouthfeel is clean with very mild carbonation and just a bit sticky.

Founders Green Zebra is a really refreshing warm-weather beer. It reminds of a Jolly Rancher with the tartness providing a balancing factor that prevents the beer from becoming too sweet. Overall, this one is a well-done fruited Gose with a milder tartness that struck my palate especially nicely.

So, what are you waiting for? Go out and grab Founders Green Zebra and a bag of Warheads. You won’t regret it.
