Nine Hawks skaters will be representing their home countries in Slovakia

The Blackhawks will be well-represented at the IIHF World Championships in Slovakia with nine players lacing up for their home countries.

Of course we would rather be seeing these guys on a playoff run for the Hawks right now, but it’s better than nothing. The games open up on Friday with day one Blackhawks matchups featuring Henri Jokiharju/Finland vs. Dylan Strome/Canada, and Artem Anisimov/Russia vs. Andreas Martinsen/Norway. Patrick Kane, Alex DeBrincat, and the Americans will face off against Slovakia while Marcus Kruger, Erik Gustafsson, and the Swedes take on the Czech Republic.
