Blackhawks at Worlds: USA vs. Germany Pre-Tournament Tune-Up

Two Blackhawks lit the lamp in Germany this afternoon

Three Blackhawks hit the ice today ahead of the IIHF World Championships when Patrick Kane, Alex DeBrincat and Team USA faced Dominik Kahun and Germany in a pre-tournament contest.

With the game tied at one just over 15 minutes into the opening frame, Kahun was the first Hawks skater to get on the board when he jammed a puck past Corey Schneider after being left unattended in front of the net on a bit of a broken play.

The Americans knotted the game up in the second period, which set up Alex DeBrincat for the game-winning goal. Four minutes into the third, the Cat walked to the top of the right circle and fired a wrister that found its way through the German netminder.

Team USA came out on top of this exhibition contest by a score of 5-2. The Hawks American duo will be back in action on Friday for their opening game of the IIHF World Championships against Slovakia, the host country. Puck drop is scheduled for 1:15 PM central time.
