The Chicago Bears are searching high and low for competition at all positions. The Bears will try to convert Jesper Horsted, a 6’4″ 225 lbs former wide receiver, to a tight end since they are in need of more players at that spot.

Over his four-year career at Princeton, Horsted recorded for 28 receiving touchdowns and a total of 2,703 receiving yards. He also added two rushing touchdowns in 2018. Horsted is the most accomplished Princeton wide receiver to ever play there.

The competition behind Trey Burton, Adam Shaheen, and Ben Braunecker will now heat up leading into the summer. Horsted will be battling three other UDFA’s the Bears added after the draft in Dax Raymond, Ian Bunting, and Ellis Richardson.

This might be one of the most interesting battles leading all the way through the preseason. The body of work that Horsted posted as a receiver could make him the new lead man to fill that last spot. He does have some tricks up his sleeves which make him interesting as well.
