Bobby Roundtree Injured

The All-Big Ten Honorable Mention, who had the potential to be a first or second round NFL draft pick after this season, Bobby Roundtree, severely injured his spine while swimming in Florida, where he lives.

A couple months ago, I said the Illinois Fighting Illini would finally get to a bowl game this season. Although, I thought they’d finish 6-6 with a relatively week non-conference schedule, this was still a massive gain for the program. Not anymore. Their All-Big Ten Honorable Mention, who had the potential to be a first or second round NFL draft pick after this season, Bobby Roundtree, severely injured his spine while swimming in Florida, where he lives.

This is awful. The dude wants to enjoy his offseason, doing a very casual, fun activity with family or friends, and this happens. This is absolutely devastating for Roundtree, the Illini family, and college football in general. Let’s hope he has a safe recovery and can make it back on the field.
