Eloy Jimenez Returns from the Injured List

There you have it. The roster move we all expected is now official, as Eloy Jimenez will return to the White Sox when they open up a four-game series in Houston tonight. After yesterday’s 5-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays, Nicky Delmonico was optioned to AAA Charlotte to create space on the roster.

Back on April 26th, Eloy Jimenez scared all White Sox fans half to death when he scaled the wall on a home run that was well out of the yard and came down hard on his ankle.

He was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain and rested for a couple of weeks before beginning a rehab stint at AAA Charlotte last week. He went 7-22 over five games with one double and one home run with the Knights. In 21 games with the White Sox before the injury, he slashed .241/.294/.380 with three home runs. It will be great to see him back with the big league club, especially since the White Sox offense has gone cold lately.
