The Chicago Bears started OTAs on May 21st this year. They started the offseason with an optional lift day. In Matt Nagy’s press conference yesterday he said he believes 98% of the team showed up. He was also certain that this was one of the tops for teams around the league though.
Moving on to Wednesday the team rolled out some position changes. Two of which were already talked about. Those two where James Daniels to center, where it is a more natural fit for him. As well as Cody Whitehair to the left guard. The change should be positive for the offensive line.
Now for the first of two changes that came out of nowhere. Taquan Mizzell Sr. moves from running back to wide receiver. With that comes a number change from 33 to 11. The team has moved on right away from Kevin White.
The second change that is a little out there is Bradley Sowell, the change he will make is to tight end. We can all remember that awesome touchdown catch against the Rams. Maybe not so much that dance afterward. With this change as well the number changes from 79 to 85. Nagy talked about this one being something the two of them talked about for a while now. They want to fill the depth at this position, more for the Y-tight end spot.
So, for the next few months, we will see how these four changes and everything. Which ones will truly stick when the regular season starts?
