Offseason Surgery: Trey Burton
Since Burton missed the playoff game vs. Philadelpia, the story has been all over the place as to what the real reason was for him missing that game. The official news came out today.
All Chicago Bears fans remember the playoff game just like it was yesterday. However, one of those reasons was kind of a shocker to fans. That was hearing Trey Burton was out due to injury.
Since that day, the story has been all over the place as to what the real reason was for him missing that game. Was it really a groin injury? Was it anxiety due to playing his former team? Some even went far enough to say he quit on his team.
The official news as of today is that two months ago he had surgery for a sports hernia, which will cost him a chance at participating in OTAs. The Bears are hoping to have him back in time for Training Camp come July.
They will need to make sure he takes all the time to recover. They can’t really afford to lose him during the season due to something like this happening again, so they should keep him out for as long as he really needs at this point.
