The Chicago White Sox have selected Boston College left-handed pitcher Dan Metzdorf in the fifth round of the 2019 MLB Draft.

Metzdorf was previously drafted by the New York Yankees in the 38th round of the 2018 Draft but instead returned to Boston College. He was not ranked going into the draft despite putting up some fairly impressive numbers this season in the BC rotation.

White Sox 5th rounder Dan Metzdorf is a senior who probably makes financial puzzle pieces fit with Andrew Dalquist. He's the first player taken not on The Board. Low slot lefty with fringe velo, sweeping slider.
