White Sox DFA Odrisamer Despaigne and Call Up Jon Jay

The Chicago White Sox have moved on from the Odrisamer Despaigne experiment after the veteran struggled in his time with the White Sox. Despaigne had a 9.45 ERA in 13.1 IP with the White Sox this season, basically mirroring Ervin Santana.

Jon Jay will be getting the call up now that Odrisamer is gone. Jay has been battling an injury since Spring Training, but now seems ready to join the Sox. In 16 rehab games between AA and AAA, Jay is batting .333 with two doubles and seven RBI.

One has to think that Jay will start getting looked at in right field. Charlie Tilson and Ryan Cordell have struggled offensively as of late and Jay has an opportunity to step in and earn the job.

As far as the starting rotation goes now that Despaigne is gone, look for Manny Banuelos to get looks. Hell, who knows? Maybe even Carson Fulmer can get back into the mix. Only time will tell.
