BREAKING: Cubs to Re-call 2B Robel Garcia from Triple-A Iowa

After struggles have highlighted the Cubs’ season with second basemen, the Cubs are giving Robel Garcia a shot at the big leagues.

After struggles from many second basemen all season, the Cubs are giving Robel Garcia a shot at the big leagues.

Theo Epstein confirmed the news today:

Robel Garcia has not played in the United States since 2013. However, this season, he crushed Double-A and was promoted to Triple-A after only 22 games. In those 22 games at Double-A Tennessee, Garcia batted .295 with six home runs and 26 RBIs.

In his 50 games at Triple-A Iowa, Garcia is hitting .281 with 15 home runs and 32 RBIs. His bat will be a welcomed addition to this Cubs lineup in the coming days.
