Eloy Jimenez Suffers Elbow Injury, IL Stint Likely
Eloy Jimenez is likely headed to the IL after a collision in the first inning of Tuesday night’s game at Kansas City.
Tuesday night was an absolutely painful one for White Sox fans. Not only were the Sox were shut out 11-0 by the Kansas City Royals, but Eloy Jimenez also collided with Charlie Tilson in the bottom of the first inning and was removed from the ballgame with what has been reported to be an elbow injury.
Losing Eloy Jimenez while riding a five-game losing streak isn’t exactly what the White Sox had in mind to kick off the second half of the year, but here we are. After the game reports indicate that Eloy is heading back to Chicago to get looked at by team doctors and that he is likely going to require an IL stint.
The White Sox have had their fair share of elbow injuries this season, and adding a name like Eloy Jimenez to the list of those suffering one will be a tough pill to swallow should he miss an extended period of time.
