What a perfect day for some football. The Chicago Bears were back in front of another large crowd for training camp on Thursday. Training camp wasn’t the only football for the day, Thursday night was the Hall Of Fame game which the Bears were in last season. We are also one week from the first preseason game for this team. Everyone is super excited for that.

The day started on a positive note. Adam Shaheen was back practicing and ready to go. Sadly, that did not last too long. About 45 minutes later he was walking away with a trainer and came back with no pads on. He was on the sideline the rest of the day. The team went through the individual drills per usual and Patterson was still with the wide receivers during this day. One player that the fans are really getting excited to see is Riley Ridley, everyone hopes he is back soon.

The offense continued to work on screen plays again today. The best part of those plays is watching the other wide receivers that love to get in and block for each other. After those few minutes they moved on to some offensive work in the red zone. One of Mitchell Trubisky‘s first passes was a roll out in which he connected with Anthony Miller on an an absolute bullet from Trubisky. They practiced a few plays around the goal line as well. The most interesting part about this drill was watching a goal line run with Cordarrelle Patterson right up the middle. Yet again, Javon Wims was all over the field today as well. During this drill he made a great catch right on the goal line. The referees discussed what happened for a little bit, but in the end they agreed with the original call.

During the scrimmages, the fans got to finally see the new safety tandem of Eddie Jackson and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. It will for sure be a fun group to watch. One of Trubisky’s first passes was another floating pass to Allen Robinson that would have left him in a bad spot during an actual game. Deon Bush came in to break up the pass. Two plays later, Bush was able to get an interception after missing one he could have had earlier. Matt Nagy could be heard all around camp yelling at his offense for false starting. At this point he told the first team players to head to the sideline.

Several players came to play again today during practice. Marvin Hall was making great grabs during all of the scrimmages. He had two catches that could have gone for long touchdowns in games due to his speed in the open field. Also, Hall was practicing returning kick-offs near the end of the day. Javon Wims was another name that was very active during the day. During his time with each group, he made sure that he was able to make an impact. The defense was just as furious as every again today. Khalil Mack had a tipped pass that he ended up intercepting. They were able to force the quarterbacks to hurry tons of throws per usual. Finally, the last name that stood out was Eddy Pineiro, who went seven-for-eight again today. This kicker battle is not ending any time soon.

Who was able to make it to training camp so far? What issues do you see for this team?
