Yes, you read that right. Chicago White Sox left fielder Eloy Jimenez earned himself the American League Player of the Week.
Eloy tore the cover off of the ball this past week and definitely earned this honor. Eloy slashed .435/.500/.870 with 6 R, 2B, 3 HR, 11 RBI, and 20 total bases over six games. In the six games he played, Eloy crushed his first-ever grand slam against the Kansas City Royals.
The run Eloy went on was phenomenal, and it truly shows what he is capable of doing in the future. Sometimes it’s hard to get excited as we witness the White Sox drop series to lesser opponents, but as we always say on Sox On Tap, “Silver Linings.”

This moment is all about Eloy, no doubt. But witnessing the elite baseball that Yoan Moncada and Tim Anderson have been putting on makes it that much easier to think the White Sox will be okay.
