
Well Cubs fans, it’s official. Joe Maddon and the Chicago Cubs have parted ways and he will not return to the team next year. In five seasons with the Cubs, Maddon had a record of 471-338. The Cubs made the playoffs four out of the five seasons under Maddon’s tenure, including a 2016 World Series championship.
Chicago Sun-Times reporter Gordon Wittenmyer tweeted earlier a quote from Maddon saying “I’m really excited about the future. I’m excited about the Cubs future.” In Joe Maddon fashion, he and Theo Epstein shared a bottle of wine and discussed the future of the team. This is just the beginning of what will be the most anticipated offseason for Cubs fans since 2014.
I speak for all Cubs fans everywhere by saying thank you, Joe for bringing so much to the north side.
