NFL DFS Week 6: Locks, Value, and CrackUm

A handy guide on who to play for Week Six of Daily Fantasy Football.

Week five featured a crazy slate of games. Hopefully you found some success amidst the chaos. Some of the biggest performances of the season happened this last weekend, so hopefully you found yourself on the right side of those games. Don’t forget, a total of four teams are on the bye this weekend and there is another game in London. Those circumstances will make the main slate of games a little bit thinner. As we dive into DFS picks, value can be found at all positions this weekend. Check out where to spend and where to save.

Quarterback

Lock: Dak Prescott (FD:$8.0K/DK:$6.2K). The Cowboys quarterback has been very good this season. In four out of five games he has topped 23 fantasy points and passed for 2+ in all of those contests. He has only had one letdown game. This week, Dallas plays the Jets, who have not been great this season when it comes to containing the quarterback. Expect Prescott to put up a high point total once again this weekend.

Value: Gardner Minshew II (FD:$6.9K/DK:$5.0K). The rookie has been consistent all year, so we’re just waiting on that one big breakout game from the Jaguars quarterback. This week, Jacksonville matches up against a defense that is currently giving up the third-most points to opposing quarterbacks. This is a home game for the Jaguars, so it’s a good time to buy into Minshew Mania.

Running Back

Lock: Chris Carson (FD:$7.2K/DK:$6.0K). It has been a great season for the Seahawks running back so far. He has struggled with a few fumbles, but he continues to fight back. This week, he matches up against the struggling Browns, who are near the bottom of the league against running backs. The total number of touches will be there again for Carson this week.

Value: Adrian Peterson (FD:$5.3K/DK:$4.5K). The Miami Dolphins are the worst team against the running back, so the Washington Redskins group should have a good day. You can add Chris Thompson into this mix as well; his price is very similar this week. Washington will want to control the game by running the ball, which should help out the vet, AP.

Wide Receiver

Lock: Cooper Kupp (FD:$7.8K/DK:$7.1K). The Rams wide receiver is truly becoming a number one threat. Kupp has only scored less than 15 points on one occasion this season, and that performance came all the way back in week one. He still sees 9+ targets each and every game, so the volume is there game in and game out. Continue playing him, as that type of workload it is hard to pass up even at this price.

Value: Dede Westbrook (FD:$5.4K/DK:$5.1K). The Saints are near the bottom of the league against the wide receiver, and, yes, plenty of people will want to go after DJ Chark this weekend. However, he will have Marshon Lattimore on him all day. The best matchup in this game will be Westbrook in the slot against P.J. Williams.

Tight End

Lock: Austin Hooper (FD:$6.4K/DK:$5.0K). This game has the chance to be one of the highest-scoring affairs of the weekend, and Hooper continues to be a big part of the Falcons offense. What helps more so this week is that the Falcons line up against a defense that is giving up the most fantasy points to the tight end position.

Value: Mark Andrews (FD:$6.3K/DK:$4.8K). The Ravens will be looking to attack in every way they can this weekend, so they will certainly want to get their second-year tight end involved. The Bengals are a struggling defense all across the board, so you can expect Lamar Jackson to be looking the way of his big target on numerous occasions this Sunday.

CrackUm Player Of The Week

Kyler Murray (FD:$7.7K/DK:$6.5K). Looking for that major breakout game for another rookie quarterback this weekend? Well, here it is. Murray is going up against a defense that gives up the second-most points to the opposing signal-callers. This game will be a high scoring game, so you can expect Murray to throw the ball just as much as he normally does. Add in his rushing ability, and he could have a hell of a day.
