Kirby Dach to Start Conditioning Stint at Rockford

Kirby Dach will finally see game action tonight — just not at the United Center.

The Blackhawks 2019 third overall draft pick, Kirby Dach, will finally see game action tonight — just not at the United Center.

Instead, he will be joining the AHL Rockford IceHogs for a conditioning stint, which will begin with their home opener against the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Dach was not ready to start the regular season with the Blackhawks due to being in concussion protocol for a few weeks after taking a big hit along the boards in the final game of the Traverse City Prospect Tournament in mid-September. He traveled to Europe and practiced with the Blackhawks overseas as he worked to get back up to speed. He has also been taking some line rushes in practice back in Chicago over the past week. This conditioning assignment with Rockford means that we will likely see him donning the Indianhead in the near future.
