Breaking news per David Kaplan of NBC Sports Chicago is that David Ross has been named the new skipper of the Chicago Cubs.

Breaking news per David Kaplan of NBC Sports Chicago is that David Ross has been named the new skipper of the Chicago Cubs.

This move comes with quite a bit of controversy. It seems that half of the Cubs’ fanbase wanted Houston Astros bench coach Joe Espada, and the other half wanted Ross.

Nonetheless, the Cubs’ front office must have liked what Ross was saying and bringing to the table more so than Espada. As fans, we would like to know why, and we may possibly find out in an introductory press conference.

UPDATE:

The news became official on Thursday morning when Ross and the Cubs agreed to a three-year deal with a club option for 2023.

The official introductory press conference will take place on Monday.

Epstein went with Ross because Espada wanted more money, no doubt, and Epstein’s CHEAP!!!
