The Chicago Bulls have assigned forward, Chandler Hutchison to the G-League. Hutchison, who missed all of training camp and preseason, will join the Windy City Bulls as they begin their training camp. Hutchison will get practice reps in with the team to work himself back into game shape and hopefully join the Chicago Bulls sooner rather than later.
A hamstring injury has kept Chandler down so far throughout this young season, but Chicago Bulls head coach Jim Boylen is hopeful Hutchison will be rejoining the team as soon as possible.
“This way, he can get as much contact as possible,” coach Jim Boylen said. “I would envision him (being there) through Wednesday. And then we’ll re-evaluate where he’s at and where we’re at and see when he rejoins us.”
The Bulls wing depth and perimeter defense have been lacking through the first three games of the year, and Hutchison could help in both of those departments. A strong defender who adds some size and explosiveness to the cup is what the Bulls are currently lacking. It was also rumored in the offseason that Hutch spent a lot of time working on his mid-range and three-point shooting. Let’s hope when he does return he can help increase the Bulls three-point percentage, which currently is 28%.
It will definitely be nice to add another first-round talent to the rotation and watch him gel with the rest of this young core through the 2019-20 NBA season.
