Ken Rosenthal reports the White Sox have placed infielder Yolmer Sanchez on outright waivers.
Yolmer Sanchez was named the American League Gold Glove winner for second base earlier this month. Sanchez was projected to earn $6.2 million next season in arbitration, but the White Sox decided to part ways.
Sanchez will hit the waiver wire where the other 29 teams will have a chance to claim the Gold Glover.
This move frees up one spot on the White Sox 40-man roster as they look to continue adding via free agency.
