Week 14 NFL Power Rankings

The Ravens and MVP frontrunner Lamar Jackson flock to the top spot of this week’s NFL Power Rankings.

Baltimore has solidified itself as the top team in the NFL three-quarters of the way through the season. With only four more games left, almost every division is up for grabs. As the rest of the power rankings fluctuate, every team in the top ten from week 13 stays in the top ten in week 14.

1. Baltimore Ravens 10-2

Last Week: 2

The Ravens are the most complete team in the NFL. They have a defense that has playmakers on all three levels and an offense that features the runaway MVP candidate in Lamar Jackson. Another test looms in Buffalo on Sunday for the Ravens. If they extend their win streak to nine games, the Ravens will pretty much lock up the number one seed in the AFC.

Week 14: @ BUF; Sunday 1:00pm ET

2. New Orleans Saints 10-2

Last Week: 4

The Saints redeemed themselves against Atlanta after a surprising loss against the Falcons a few weeks ago. New Orleans’ offense and defense have both been playing well above average, as the Saints are in the hunt for a first-round bye.

Week 14: vs SF; Sunday 1:00pm ET

3. Seattle Seahawks 10-2

Last Week: 5

The Seahawks have won some impressive games in 2019, and that trend continued on Monday night. With a win over the 49ers already in their back pocket, the Seahawks control their own fate in the NFC West. With some luck, the NFC could run through Seattle in the playoffs.

Week 14: @ LAR; Sunday 8:20pm ET

4. San Francisco 49ers 10-2

Last Week: 3

The 49ers gave a valiant effort against the Ravens on a rainy day in Baltimore. If you didn’t believe in San Francisco’s defense, you should now. Even with the loss, the 49ers have aspirations of playing on Super Bowl Sunday. However, it isn’t clear if they’ll even be able to win their division. With two crucial games coming up against the Saints and Seahawks, the 49ers will find out where exactly they’ll be seeded headed into January.

Week 14: @ NO; Sunday 1:00pm ET

5. New England Patriots 10-2

Last Week: 1

The Patriots offense has been suspect so far this season, to say the least, and it continues to get worse every passing week. Their defense has also taken a step back, and things don’t get any easier next week. If the Patriots cannot take down the Chiefs, it looks like the AFC will be going through Baltimore and the Patriots may be without a bye in the playoffs.

Week 14: vs KC; Sunday 4:25pm ET

6. Kansas City Chiefs 8-4

Last Week: 6

The Chiefs’ offense has looked like the Chiefs’ offense with Patrick Mahomes healthy. Their defense, on the other hand, has been a disappointment, but not on Sunday. They held Derek Carr and the struggling Raiders to only nine points, and the last six came with less than a minute left in the game. If they can bring that same defense to Foxborough on Sunday against the struggling Patriots offense, the Chiefs could set themselves up for a chance at a first-round bye in January.

Week 14: @ NE; Sunday 4:25pm ET

7. Houston Texans 8-4

Last Week: 10

The Texans were impressive on Sunday night against the Patriots. QB Deshaun Watson played out of his mind against a top-level New England defense, and the Texans defense played one of their best games of the year. With Tennessee nipping on their heels in the AFC South and two matchups looming against the Titans in the final three weeks of the year, the Texans have set themselves up to control their fate in regards to a division title. Even if they don’t hold off Tennessee, the Texans look to be playoff-bound and could be dangerous.

Week 14: vs DEN; Sunday 1:00pm ET

8. Green Bay Packers 9-3

Last Week: 7

The Giants were the perfect antidote for the Packers after getting slaughtered by the 49ers on national TV. Even in the snow, Aaron Rodgers looked like Aaron Rodgers. Green Bay has some problems to fix on both sides of the ball if they want to make noise in the playoffs, but any team with Aaron Rodgers has a chance to make a run.

Week 14: vs WSH; Sunday 1:00pm ET

9. Buffalo Bills 9-3

Last Week: 9

The Bills embarrassed the Cowboys in Dallas on Thanksgiving. It was a massive win for the Bills, as their schedule continues to get tougher. Buffalo has solidified itself as the first wild card in the AFC, and if they keep it rolling, they may have it wrapped up soon.

Week 14: vs BAL; Sunday 1:00pm ET

10. Minnesota Vikings 8-4

Last Week: 8

Minnesota ran into a tough Seattle squad on Monday night to push them a game back of the Packers in the NFC North. If Minnesota cannot catch Green Bay in the North, they are the favorite to take the final wild-card spot in the NFC. Only two teams behind Minnesota have a shot to overtake them for the final playoff spot: the Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears.

Week 14: vs DET; Sunday 1:00pm ET

11. Los Angeles Rams 7-5

Last Week: 13

On Sunday, Jared Goff and the Rams’ offense finally looked like the Rams who went to the Super Bowl in 2018. It was a breath of fresh air for Rams fans who have been rightfully disappointed in a below-average offense. If the Rams can take some sort of momentum from their win against the Cardinals, they could challenge the Vikings or Packers for the final wild-card spot.

Week 14: vs SEA; Sunday 8:20pm ET

12. Tennessee Titans 7-5

Last Week: 14

The Titans were 2-4 after getting shut out in Denver, and it looked like a top-ten draft pick was in their 2020 future, but then came a QB change. Marcus Mariota was pulled in the fourth quarter of that Denver game for Ryan Tannehill, and Tannehill never looked back. In addition to a monster season from RB Derrick Henry and a top-tier defense, Tannehill has helped lead the Titans to a 5-1 record in the six games he has started since that Denver matchup. The Titans season has turned around and there’s a chance not only to make the playoffs, but to win the AFC South as well. Like the Texans, they control their own destiny in the South, and a week 17 matchup may decide who takes the crown.

Week 14: @ OAK; Sunday 4:25pm ET

13. Pittsburgh Steelers 7-5

Last Week: 15

The Steelers have won six out of their last seven games despite being on their third-string QB. Pittsburgh benched Mason Rudolph leading up to their second matchup against the Browns on Sunday, and new QB Devlin Hodges played pretty well. If the Steelers can continue to reel off wins on the back of their defense, they’ll be fighting for the last playoff spot in the AFC.

Week 14: @ ARI: Sunday 4:25pm ET

14. Indianapolis Colts 6-6

Last Week: 11

The Colts lost a pivotal matchup against the Titans on Sunday that essentially put them out of the running for the AFC South, as the Titans and Texans still play each other twice the rest of the season. The Colts still hold onto hope for a wild card spot, however, and that starts with a win against a high-powered offense in Tampa Bay next Sunday.

Week 14: @ TB; Sunday 1:00pm ET

15. Dallas Cowboys 6-6

Last Week: 12

The Cowboys are lucky to be in the easiest division in football. They own the head-to-head advantage over Philadelphia as both teams are 6-6 headed into week 14. If they want to have a shot, it starts this week against the Bears. It’s a big game for both teams, so we will see what Dallas is truly made of in a Thursday night tilt in the Windy City.

Week 14: @ CHI; Thursday 8:20pm ET

16. Oakland Raiders 6-6

Last Week: 16

The Raiders have put together an up-and-down season in 2019. Their offense looked like it was taking a large step forward, but after the last two weeks against below-average defenses, Oakland has been downright putrid. RB Josh Jacobs has been the MVP of the Raiders, as he just surpassed 1,000 yards on the year. If Oakland wants to keep their 2019 playoff hopes alive, it starts with beating the red-hot Titans at home. If they can do that, they’re back in the thick of the race. If they can’t, their last season in Oakland would end with another offseason at home.

Week 14: vs TEN; Sunday 4:25pm ET

17. Chicago Bears 6-6

Last Week: 20

The Bears reeled off their second win in a row to keep their season alive. It was a rough first half on Thanksgiving for Chicago, but the Bears regrouped against a depleted Detroit squad to keep their season going. QB Mitchell Trubisky arguably played his best game of the year, as the Bears look forward to hosting Dallas in another must-win game this upcoming Thursday. A win could give a real spark to a team fighting for a wild card spot, but with a loss, their season would essentially end.

Week 14: vs DAL; Thursday 8:20pm ET

18. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5-7

Last Week: 23

The Buccaneers offense has put up their fair share of touchdowns in 2019. Unfortunately, the turnovers and below-average defense in Tampa Bay has kept the Buccaneers from a playoff push. Hope for 2020 looms large in Tampa Bay. With the right additions, the Bucs could be a sleeper.

Week 14: vs IND; Sunday 1:00pm ET

19. Carolina Panthers 5-7

Last Week: 17

The Panthers lost to a very poor Redskins team this past week, and any hope at a playoff push ended with the loss. A QB question looms in Carolina going into 2020, and after a nice start to the year for Kyle Allen, he has looked more and more like a backup every week. With the right pieces, Carolina is a QB away from competing again, but who that QB will be remains to be seen.

Week 14: @ ATL; Sunday 1:00pm ET

20. Philadelphia Eagles 5-7

Last Week: 18

The Eagles hit rock bottom on Sunday after losing to the Miami Dolphins. Luckily for the Eagles, the Cowboys have been just as bad in one of the worst divisions in recent NFL history. If they can find themselves, there’s still a chance to make the playoffs and even host a playoff game.

Week 14: vs NYG; Monday 8:15pm ET

21. Cleveland Browns 5-7

Last Week: 19

The Browns rattled off three straight wins to give themselves slim playoff aspirations. Alas, Cleveland lost in Pittsburgh to end any chance of a playoff appearance. With all the hype, the Browns fell short of expectations. In 2020, I’d assume the hype for Cleveland will be subdued, but you never know with the national media.

Week 14: vs CIN; Sunday 1:00pm ET

22. Denver Broncos 4-8

Last Week: 27

The Broncos turned to second-round QB Drew Lock on Sunday and saw a pretty decent performance. In the last quarter of the year, the Broncos should let Lock show them if he’s the man to lead the team in 2020.

Week 14: @ HOU; Sunday 1:00pm ET

23. Los Angeles Chargers 4-8

Last Week: 21

The Chargers look like they will part ways with longtime QB Phillip Rivers after the 2019 season. Some high expectations were not achieved for the Chargers, and with plenty of options at QB this offseason, the Chargers will have their pick.

Week 14: @ JAX; Sunday 4:05pm ET

24. Jacksonville Jaguars 4-8

Last Week: 22

The Jaguars have gone back to QB Gardner Minshew after another loss with Nick Foles. In a division with three teams touting much deeper rosters and better coaching, the Jaguars have a lot to do in the offseason to close the gap. In 2017, the Jaguars were a few plays away from the Super Bowl. In 2019, a lot needs to be done to even think about the playoffs.

Week 14: vs LAC; Sunday 4:05pm ET

25. Atlanta Falcons 3-9

Last Week: 24

The Falcons couldn’t pull off the upset of New Orleans in their second meeting of the season. With a lot of injuries, the Falcons must look toward 2020 for any hope as they will once again have high expectations.

Week 14: vs CAR; Sunday 1:00pm ET

26. New York Jets 4-8

Last Week: 25

It is really hard to understand the New York Jets. They destroyed the Raiders one week and then got manhandled by the winless Bengals the next. Sam Darnold still looks like a franchise QB, but if the Jets can’t surround him with more talent this offseason, he might not have enough confidence to take the next step.

Week 14: vs MIA; Sunday 1:00pm ET

27. Arizona Cardinals 3-8-1

Last Week: 26

The Cardinals’ offense and QB Kyler Murray have looked lost the last several weeks. After a nice start to the season, Arizona has taken a step back, and even without high expectations, it has been a disappointment. Nonetheless, what Murray does in year two should start to determine how far the Cardinals can go with the QB. Another high draft pick will give Arizona a chance to continue to build a better roster.

Week 14: vs PIT; Sunday 4:25pm ET

28. Detroit Lions 3-8-1

Last Week: 28

The Lions started QB David Blough on Thanksgiving against the Bears, and they actually turned in a respectable performance. He and the Lions offense played well, but not well enough to win. Going forward, Detroit will be able to see what they have in their backup QB position behind Matthew Stafford for 2020.

Week 14: @ MIN; Sunday 1:00pm ET

29. Miami Dolphins 3-9

Last Week: 29

Don’t look now, but the Dolphins are 3-2 in their last five games. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has played himself into a starting job next season, and most likely back in Miami. With at least another year of rebuilding left in Miami, the Dolphins can build a nice foundation for the next two offseasons as they have a whole lot of draft capital and money to spend.

Week 14: @ NYJ; Sunday 1:00pm ET

30. Washington Redskins 3-9

Last Week: 31

The Redskins took home their second straight win on Sunday. QB Dwayne Haskins hasn’t had the best rookie season but has progressed nonetheless. With some decent pieces in place, the Redskins will look to free agency and a high draft pick to continue to build.

Week 14: @ GB; Sunday 1:00pm ET

31. New York Giants 2-10

Last Week: 30

The Giants have some problems on both sides of the ball. Starting QB Daniel Jones has regressed after a nice start to his rookie season, and the defense has looked horrendous. RB Saquon Barkley should be looking around like Will Smith in the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Week 14: @ PHI; Monday 8:15pm ET

32. Cincinnati Bengals 1-11

Last Week: 32

The Bengals finally got their first win of the season on Sunday. Luckily for them, they still own the rights to the first pick in the 2020 draft, but now by only a game.
