Injury Report: Roquan Smith is Heading to the IR

Breaking news from Halas Hall this morning indicates that Roquan Smith is done for the 2019 season.

Breaking news from Halas Hall this morning indicates that Roquan Smith is done for the 2019 season.

Head Coach Matt Nagy confirmed that Smith has a torn pectoral muscle and is being placed on the IR.

This comes at a time when the Bears were already without linebacker Danny Trevathan and start defensive lineman Akiem Hicks. To the Bears fortunes, Hicks is due back this week, but Trevathan is also out for the season.

This injury initiates the classic procedure of “next man up”. Nick Kwiatkoski has done a nice job filling in for Trevathan, but now, another linebacker, likely Kevin Pierre-Louis, will have to fill in at the interior spot for the stud linebacker from Georgia.
