Notre Dame Snubbed in Bowl Selection?
With bowl season finally upon us in the college football world, it is time to separate the men from the boys. Your entire offseason mood, as a fan, is based on this game and I’m being fairly confident because Notre Dame finds its way into the toilet bowl. The Irish will square up with Iowa State, not on New Years, and in the Camping World Bowl.
This is by no means the worst-case scenario. Notre Dame could have been barely bowl eligible and break our hearts in the regular season and Bowl season. I have spoken to a lot of fans and even more haters, and the general consensus is Notre Dame was snubbed on their bowl selection. Is that really the case? Most fans are happy with a 10-win season, but not a bowl that’s not on New Year’s Day?
There are many questions about how 10-2 Notre Dame has been matched up against 7-5, dwindling in the Big 12 rankings, Iowa State. How Virginia makes a New Year’s six bowl after going 9-4, with an absolute dismantling given to them by Clemson, makes no sense. Will Virginia even be able to keep up with Florida? What must the Irish do for the committee’s respect? All of these answers will come in due time and us, the fans, will have to play the waiting game.
We will see how this one turns out on Saturday the 28th in Orlando, where I have the Irish tearing apart the Cyclones.
What do you think will happen? Let us know!
