Bears Hire New TE Coach; Kyle Fuller is Heading to the Pro Bowl
The Bears have been all over the news today, as three major announcements occurred today.
Bears Tab Clancy Barone as New Tight Ends Coach
On New Year’s Eve, the Bears decided to part ways with offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich, offensive line coach Harry Heistand, tight ends coach Kevin Gilbride Jr., and special teams assistant Brock Olivo.
Since then, veteran o-line coach Juan Castillo replaced Heistand as the offensive line coach, and on Thursday afternoon the Bears tabbed Clancy Barone to lead the underachieving tight ends group moving forward.
Barone did not coach in 2019, but he spent 2018 as the offensive line coach in Minnesota after spending 2017 as their tight ends coach.
Barone entered the league in 2004 with Atlanta and spent 2009-2016 with the Denver Broncos.

Kyle Fuller is Heading to the Pro Bowl
Kyle Fuller will be heading to the NFL’s annual all-star event the week before the Super Bowl after being named as a replacement for Los Angeles Rams’ cornerback Jalen Ramsey on Thursday afternoon.
This is Fuller’s second consecutive Pro Bowl selection.
Bears to Receive Compensatory Sixth-Round Pick from Philadelphia
The conditional draft pick that the Bears acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles as part of the Jordan Howard trade last summer has become a sixth-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.
