Kyle Schwarber, Cubs Settle on 2020 Contract

The Cubs and Kyle Schwarber have agreed on the outfielder’s 2020 salary.

The Chicago Cubs and Kyle Schwarber avoided arbitration on Friday afternoon. Schwarber and the Cubs settled at $10 million for the 2020 campaign.

The 2016 World Series hero is coming off one of the best seasons in his young career. The 26-year-old posted career highs in home runs (38), hits (132), doubles (29), RBIs (92), slugging percentage (.531), and OPS (.871).

Here’s to hoping Schwarbo can carry his hot finish of the 2019 season into 2020. Ballhawks beware, Schwarber bombs incoming.
