The Illini are ranked. Conference play is in full swing. It’s a beautiful thing. It’s Wednesday, so that means college hoops blesses us with some ranked teams playing. Let’s get to some picks!
Georgetown/Creighton – Total 152
The Big East has a tendency to score a lot of points. I’d beg to differ with these teams. In Creighton’s last three games, they’ve been under that total. Three of Georgetown’s last four have gone under 152, and the one that did not was 153. Perfect. If you’ve trailed my bets, I love taking unders. Well, here’s another one.
Pick: Under 152
South Carolina vs. Kentucky (-5.5)
South Carolina has given a challenge to some higher profile teams (Virginia and Tennessee). In fact, they won those games. It doesn’t matter. Kentucky has five guys that can take control of the game. Maik Kotsar is the only strength South Carolina has down low. Nick Edwards could put Kotsar in foul trouble early. I’d also give the edge to Kentucky with their guards.
Pick: Kentucky -5.5
Alabama vs. Auburn (-2)
Experts have had a tendency to fade the Auburn Tigers. Do I think they should be undefeated? No, but they’re still an incredibly talented team. Alabama’s strength relies on Kira Lewis Jr. and John Petty Jr. After that, it drops off pretty quickly. Samir Doughty, Isaac Okoro, and company will hold their own because Auburn distributes the ball more efficiently. Look for Auburn to stay undefeated.
Pick: Auburn -2
There you have it, folks. After a 2-2 Tuesday, let’s win some money!
