The waiting game continues for the Chicago Cubs and Kris Bryant. Jon Heyman tweeted early Thursday morning that there is expected to be a decision regarding his service time grievance by the end of January.

For Cubs fans, this has become an “I will believe it when I see it” case. Fans have been told nothing drastic will happen in terms of signings or trades until payroll is shed. Fans have also been told nothing will happen on the Kris Bryant front until this ruling is complete.

Sadly, Cubs fans have been told his case will finally have a ruling for what seems like forever. At this point, I think a majority of fans are sadly expecting the Cubs to go into the season with less than what they finished the 2019 season with.

Let me remind you, the Cubs choked down the stretch and missed out on the playoffs at the end of the 2019 season. It has been a very depressing offseason for the North Siders, here’s to hoping Theo and company have a trick up their sleeves if this hearing ever gets settled.
