BREAKING: Marquee Sports Network Announces Lineup of Personalities for 2020

The Marquee Sports Network has announced their personalities for the 2020 MLB season.

Huge news broke this afternoon as the Marquee Sports Network, the Chicago Cubs new TV network, announced the full stable of personalities for the 2020 season.

No surprise here, but the Cubs retained TV personalities Len Kasper and Jim Deshaies. There will not be any changes to the TV broadcast from that perspective.

The Marquee Sports Network (MSN) tabbed Cole Wright for studio host and Taylor McGregor for field reporting duties. Wright is well known for being on Sirius XM Radio talking NFL, while McGregor is a college football reporter for ESPN.

The next group of characters is just that, characters. MSN has tabbed Ryan Dempster, Rick Sutcliffe, and Lou Pinella (yes, you read that correctly) as analysts. Dempster will be an in-game and studio analyst, while the other two’s roles are simply defined as “analyst.”

To round out the group, Carlos Pena, Mark DeRosa, Jason Hammel, and Dan Plesac will also serve as analysts on MSN. Many of these guys have abundant experience with the MLB Network, so it’s safe to assume their analysis will be high-quality television.

Finally, Chris Myers is quite an addition to the group. Beginning his career with ESPN in 1988, Myers contributed to ESPN for ten years. In 1998, he moved over to Fox Sports where he has become one of the most recognizable names and voices around. He has done NFL, MLB, NASCAR, Boxing, and even the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in his time there. He will be a play-by-play and studio host for the network.

As a fan, I am excited for this group of people to be a part of the Marquee Sports Network. They all bring extensive experience in broadcasting and will surely make games enjoyable for fans everywhere. Now, the key for MSN will be to nail down contracts with every major cable provider so fans can enjoy this great cast of humans. However, we’ll save that story for another piece.

In the meantime, there is a lot of firepower in the MSN rotation for Cubs games in 2020. There is no doubt that the Cubs are looking to make the Marquee Sports Network the best possible product for fans everywhere.
