College Basketball Bets – 1/21/20
Three college basketball bets to get you started this Tuesday night.
It was a rough start to Saturday that ended up with a 5-4-1 record. It’s been back and forth a lot over the last week, so let’s change that tonight.
Marquette (-8) vs. St. John’s
Markus Howard and Marquette have a tendency to put up big points, which is the reason I’m fading them tonight. St. John’s just lost to Seton Hall and Providence, while Marquette beat Xavier and Georgetown. This is a perfect spot where the public will overrate Marquette’s recent wins. I still think Marquette pulls it out, but it will be closer than the line tells you.
Pick: St. John’s +8
USF vs. Wichita State (-4.5)
This line keeps creeping in the direction of Wichita State, so get it while it’s hot! I wouldn’t take it after a little more movement, but I don’t expect Wichita to lose this one. It might be close down the wire, but I think the Shockers cover.
Pick: Wichita St. -4.5
Villanova/Butler – Total 130
You think we’re not going to have action on the biggest game of the night (aside from my Illini)? Butler tends to slow teams down, but I don’t expect that to be the case with Villanova on their home floor. Collin Gillespie and the Wildcats will keep the pace. Big East basketball isn’t like the Big Ten. I’d expect this to be more around 135. Go with the over.
Pick: Over 130
There you have it, folks. As always, follow me on Twitter to get spur of the moment picks not in this write up. I wish you the best of luck on this fantastic night of hoops!
