This afternoon, the White Sox announced the signings of 15 free agents to minor-league deals in addition to 27 non-roster invitations to Spring Training.

The following players were signed to minor league deals:

Those 15 players along with these 12 already in the organization were extended non-roster invites to Spring Training:

The White Sox added a bunch of depth pieces for AAA including some familiar faces and sent them an invite to Spring Training. They usually can find a pitcher out of the group that excels and finds a roster spot, but with so many additions this year, it is hard to see anyone from that group of 15 making the opening day roster. The next group of 12 also will be unlikely to make the Opening Day roster, a group including the White Sox third, fourth, and sixth overall prospects in Andrew Vaughn, Nick Madrigal, and Jonathan Stiever, respectively (per MLB.com).

Madrigal should be up at some point in 2020, but not on Opening Day. As for the other two, they most likely won’t be in a White Sox uniform until after 2020. As we get closer to pitchers and catchers reporting, the White Sox continue to build depth, which should carry on throughout the winter.
