After missing seven straight games, Blackhawks forward Dylan Strome will return to the lineup when the Hawks take the ice against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday night.
Strome, who suffered an ankle injury in the Blackhawks 2-1 loss on January 7th, is a welcome addition back to the lineup, as he currently sits fifth on the roster in scoring with his 30 points in 40 games.
The return of Dylan Strome provides extra depth to the forward group ahead of the Blackhawks’ contest with the Coyotes. Strome’s return means a reunion for Alex DeBrincat and Strome, at least according to Jeremy Colliton’s lines he used in practice on Friday.
This setup for the forward group could be very intriguing if it works. Fans have watched how great DeBrincat and Strome are together. Also, Saad and Kane played great with Carpenter, so imagine how good they could be with Kirby Dach. The top line has been an entirely different beast. They have arguably been the best line in hockey for the month of January.
Speaking of the first line, left-winger Dominik Kubalik was named NHL Rookie of the Month for January.
Kubalik has been sensational, and a great find for the Blackhawks this season. He is a free agent after the season ends, so it will be critical for the Blackhawks to try to re-sign the young forward who is now on pace for over 30 goals.
The Blackhawks will be in action, as mentioned, tonight in Arizona. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM CST at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
