This is the XFL! Alright, just had to get that out. After just finishing up the 100th season of the NFL, we now have the reincarnated XFL back in our lives. This time, it will be a little different, but XFL’s return ultimately brings more chances for fantasy sports as well. We will be covering the DFS side of it here. There are some rules in the league that will make it interesting, so make sure to stay up to date on all of those. We will continue to cover some value plays throughout the season, as there will surely be plenty of those. Good luck to everyone in this first week of the season.

Running Back

Marquis Young – DAL ($13): Young is the first official player on my list. The backup running back for the Renegades is the most interesting right now. He could see some action out of the backfield, as he is a faster player than to the veteran Cameron Artis-Payne, who is the starter. Some of the rules will favor a player like Young. He will see more action in points after touchdowns. Another interesting rule is the kick return game, and at this time, Young is the returner for kickoffs.

Wide Receiver/Tight End

Nelson Spruce – LA ($14): The former college standout is ready to make his mark in the XFL. During his time at Colorado, he set 43 school/conference records. Sadly, the NFL never worked out for him due to several injuries. During his time in the AAF, he racked up 426 yards on 38 catches. Over his career, he has been a reliable target and he will have a veteran quarterback in Josh Johnson throwing his way. Just be aware that Johnson’s status is in question this weekend. With the faster-paced game, it will create more chances for Spruce to get the ball.

Nick Truesdell – TB ($14): Truesdell was the first tight end drafted in Phase One (Skill Players) of the XFL Draft. He was selected in the first round, while the next tight end selection came in the fourth round. This should exemplify what he will mean to this team and offense. Previously in the AAF, Truesdell posted 269 yards and three touchdowns on only 24 receptions. He will also have a solid veteran quarterback throwing him the ball in Aaron Murray.
