I’m back in the saddle with another short post about my picks for this college basketball Saturday. I began drafting this at halftime of Friday night’s Illini game, and then unfortunately the second-half collapse took place. Let’s hope for better luck in today’s slate. Here’s what I have for you:
Tennessee vs. Kentucky (-2)
Tennessee has an okay lineup. That’s all I can say about this. Kentucky struggled against Auburn on the road and beat Mississippi State. This number should be -4 by close. I expect Kentucky to easily cover this one.
Pick: Kentucky -2
Oklahoma vs. West Virginia (-3)
West Virginia’s defense may be a bit too much to overcome for the Sooners. Although the Mountaineers don’t necessarily overachieve on the road, I think this Saturday will be different. Derek Culver is a great mismatch in the paint. Give me West Virginia as a short favorite.
Pick: West Virginia -3
Penn State (-6) vs. Minnesota
This game just tells me that Minnesota is close to even with Penn State on a neutral floor. First off… no. Daniel Oturu and the Purdue posts are probably a wash. I just love fading a team like Minnesota coming off of a BIG game over Wisconsin. Give me the Nittany Lions.
Pick: Penn State -6
That’s it for this Saturday. As always, follow me on Twitter (@cwsdjt) for my thread tomorrow on games. Fair warning: I will be driving for 2.5 hours, so I may not have as many picks, but I’m a degenerate, so I’ll definitely have some.
