The White Sox and utility man Leury Garcia have agreed on a one-year, $3.5 million contract with a club option for 2021.
Garcia has spent six seasons on the South Side, playing almost every position on the diamond at least once. In 2019, he slashed .279/.310/.378 with eight home runs and 71 RBIs. With the looming question of whether or not Nick Madrigal will be on the Opening Day roster due to service time considerations, Garcia will be in a positional battle with Danny Mendick for the second base spot throughout Spring Training.
