I went 8-8 over the weekend and 1-0 on Monday. I literally netted $0 last week, but whatever. It’s not a loss. Conference tournaments for the Atlantic Sun, Big South, Horizon League, and the Patriot League all start today, and I’m ecstatic about it. That’s right. I’ll be tuning in to Oakland vs. Cleveland State and I won’t think twice about it. Let’s get to some action!
Iowa State/West Virginia – Total 138.5
The last time these two teams battled, the total landed at 137, so this line is seemingly priced correctly since West Virginia won that game sizably. However, West Va has not gone over 138.5 since January 29. I expect more of the same here. Grab the under for this game.
Pick: Under 138.5
South Florida vs. Cincinnati (-4)
South Florida won against East Carolina the other day. Cincy beat Wichita State. There is no edge off of a loss in this game, but my edge here is Cincy needs this game more. USF comes into this game at 13-16, while Cincy holds an 18-10 record and shows up in the “Last Four In” group of Joe Lunardi’s recent Bracketology from yesterday. Look for Jarron Cumberland and the Bearcats to cover this number.
Pick: Cincinnati -4
Oakland (-7.5) vs. Cleveland State
I alluded to this game above, but we need a little bit of action on some conference tournament ball tonight. Luckily, this game falls into one of my favorite sides of the night with 26% of the sharp bettors on Oakland’s side. Neither team is great, but according to KenPom.com, Oakland ranks 238 and Cleveland State lands at 311. This 7.5 point edge for the Golden Grizzlies makes sense. Xavier Hill-Mais is one of the best players in the conference, averaging 16.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game. Algevon Eichelberger is a stud for the Vikings, but I just don’t see that becoming as much of a difference. Take Oakland with the points here.
Pick: Oakland -7.5
As always, follow me on Twitter @cwsdjt for picks. I post a thread of all of my picks each day in addition to this article. I will definitely have more plays than just these three, so pay attention. We will be betting our lives on these March games. Have some fun!
