Despite mass cancellations of events going on in the sports world over the last 36 hours, NFL free agency rolls on. The Chicago Bears are active participants in it, and they have locked up a key leader on their defense for the next three years.

This signing will shore up the middle of the field for the next few years. No one can deny the leader that Trevathan is on and off the field. With the 29-year-old inside linebacker now locked up, what does this mean for the rest of the Bears’ defense? What does this mean for Nick Kwiatkoski? Could the team still address defensive needs in the draft? Only time will tell.
