Illinois Basketball to Lose Another Player: Tevian Jones Enters Transfer Portal
Tevian Jones is set to transfer out of Illinois to continue his college basketball career.
Former four-star recruit Tevian Jones has entered the transfer portal, per Brendan Quinn of The Athletic.
Jones only averaged 4.8 minutes per game for the Illini in 2019-20. Like Alan Griffin, who also announced he will be transferring, Jones would have seen limited playing time season with two stud incoming freshman joining the team in Adam Miller and Andre Curbelo. There is a rumor that Brandon Weston, another Morgan Park player, may also be committing to Illinois.
The Tevian Jones news is not as much of a shock as the Griffin news was yesterday, but scholarship spots are opening up for the Illini. They will likely be filled with transfers or re-commits. Perhaps Ayo Dosunmu will make a surprise return after testing the waters in the NBA Draft. Only time will tell.
