This afternoon, the Chicago Blackhawks announced that the United Center will be repurposed to serve as a COVID-19 Emergency Relief Hub.

The arena and surrounding space will help with “front line food distribution, first responder staging and the collection of critically needed medical supplies,” according to a United Center press release.

With all professional sports currently suspended due to coronavirus concerns, the Blackhawks and Bulls are once again stepping up to help out the community at large. The two teams previously announced that they will be assisting United Center employees with the financial burden the COVID-19 pandemic has brought on, and the Blackhawks also launched a donation-matching campaign to benefit Chicago’s COVID-19 response fund.
