Blackhawks Agree to Terms with Highmore, Lankinen, Barratt, Altybarmakyan

The Blackhawks have announced a number of signings and contract extensions involving several players.

The Blackhawks have announced a number of signings and contract extensions involving several players.

Matthew Highmore

The 24-year-old forward and the club agreed to a two-year contract extension. Year one of the contract is a two-way deal worth $700,000 at the NHL level and $450,000 at the AHL level, and year two will be a one-way deal worth $750,000. Highmore has recorded four goals and four assists in 49 career NHL games over parts of two seasons with the Blackhawks.

Kevin Lankinen

The Blackhawks continue to lock up goalie depth by signing Lankinen to a two-year pact. Year one of the contract is a two-way deal worth $750,000 at the NHL level and $500,000 at the AHL level, and year two will be a one-way deal worth $850,000. Lankinen posted a 3.03 GAA and a .909 SV% over 21 games with the Rockford IceHogs during the 2019-20 campaign.

Evan Barratt

Evan Barratt, a promising forward prospect who is finishing his junior year at Penn State, agreed to terms with the team on a three-year entry-level deal worth $870,000 annually. Barratt recorded 12 goals and 22 assists over 34 games during the 2019-20 season for the Nittany Lions. The Blackhawks selected Barratt with the 90th overall pick in the third round of the 2017 NHL Draft.

Andrei Altybarmakyan

The 21-year-old forward was originally selected by the Blackhawks with the 70th overall pick in the third round of the 2017 NHL Draft. He and the club have agreed on a two-year entry-level deal worth $817,500 annually. Altybarmakyan tallied six goals and 11 assists over 49 games with HK Sochi of the KHL during the 2019-20 season.
