‘Tommy Boy’ Actor Brian Dennehy Passes Away at 81

Late in the evening of April 15th, 2020, actor Brian Dennehy died of cardiac arrest. A decorated actor whose stage and screen career spanned over five decades, Dennehy is warmly remembered for his roles in Tommy Boy (1995) as “Big Tom” Callahan and as Sheriff Will Teasle in First Blood (1982).

Brian Dennehy was immersed in the Chicago theater scene, doing several productions at the Goodwin Theater. He was an exceptional stage actor, netting two Tony Awards for Best Lead Actor in a Play, and he was a 2010 inductee to the American Theater Hall of Fame.

He’s survived by Jennifer Arnott, his wife of over 30 years and five children. He was 81 years old.
