Songs That Give Bulls Fans Chills

Driving to the United Center for a Bulls game? If so, you should bump these songs to get you amped up.

Over the past couple of weeks, my dude Jonnie Nonnie has put together lists of Blackhawks and White Sox-related songs to keep the Chicago sports vibes flowing during this COVID-19 quarantine. I decided to follow that lead on the Chicago Bulls front.

With all the news circulating around the team after the hiring of executive vice president of basketball operations Artūras Karnišovas and ESPN’s new docuseries, “The Last Dance”, I figured why not get hyped up? Alas, I have put together a list of songs I jam out to on the way to the United Center or before watching a big Chicago Bulls game. Let’s check it out.

The Alan Parsons Project – SIRIUS

Naturally number one on the playlist, Sirius is a song that the ’90s Chicago Bulls made famous. If this tune doesn’t get your blood pumping and hype you up on the drive to a game, you don’t have a pulse. I cannot think of a better intro song spanning across all sports. Sirius takes the cake.

Eric B. & Rakim – I Ain’t No Joke

After the fade-out of Sirius, “I Ain’t No Joke” immediately follows. This tune has been on the playlist since the beginning. It’s simply a cool and tough song that emphasizes what we are all about. It emphasizes the individualism and toughness of the Chicago Bulls and continues to build on that fire that Sirius started.

P.L. – The Zone

Now we move onto P.L. The fire is already lit from the first two songs on this list. Now it’s time to lock in. This song embodies defeating the competition and uses all that pent up tenacity to get in the zone (pun intended).

Queen – We Will Rock You

What can I say? After leading out from P.L.’s The Zone, we go right into Queen to intimidate the opposing team. We Will Rock You is a must-have for this list. Hearing this song pump through the United Center speakers as the game is getting underway sends chills down my spine to this day.

Nirvana – Lithium

Nirvana is essential to this playlist. As Queen fades out, next comes Lithium. It’s a song that keeps the blood flowing and brings excitement to another level.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Can’t Stop

This song’s message is plain and simple — we can’t stop and won’t stop the party. The Chili Peppers are next on the list with Can’t Stop. This song is a banger and embodies the can’t stop ’til we get that dub mentality. Another message this tune conveys is about belonging to something, and we belong to Bulls Nation.

Sublime – Saw Red ft. Gwen Stafani

At this point in the playlist, I am nearing the arena when Sublime comes in to start mellowing me out before I pull into Lot K. This song starts off insane and then brings you down in a calm manner before the last song on the list reminds you why you’re there.

The Game – RED Nation ft. Lil Wayne

The last song on the list brings the hype back. You’re walking in to take down the competition. The Game and Tunechi are preaching RED Nation, which is different than the “See Red” slogan the Bulls use, but you can closely relate the two.

There are certainly more songs that bring about memories of Chicago Bulls basketball, but the ones on this list stood out among the crowd for me. Have other songs you would throw into the mix? Let me know in the comments or Twitter replies.
