The 2020 NFL Draft is back. Tonight brings two rounds of excitement.
D’Andre Swift, the coveted running-back out of Georgia, is moving to Detroit to become a Lion. He was first on many analysts’ draft boards for running backs and for good reason. He possesses all the desired traits in a dual-caliber back. He was one of the shiftier players we’ve scouted in this group, especially when it comes to running down the line.
While at Georgia, Swift ran for a minimum of 6.2 yards per carry in each of his three years, finishing his last two with over 1,000 yards. From a fantasy football perspective, Swift joins a crowded roster accompanied by former second-round pick Kerryon Johnson from the 2018 NFL draft. Having both on the roster may hinder Swift’s ability to be a top producing fantasy running back. He’ll probably be more of a bench stash, especially earlier in the season. However, the Lions ranked in the top half of the league in terms of rush attempts, which may help him out in the long run. For now, Swift’s fantasy value will be derived from dynasty leagues.
