The Chicago Bulls are in the Market for a New Director of Player Development

Bulls’ Director of Player Development Shawn Respert will not be returning to the Chicago following the 2019-20 season.

Per K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago, the Bulls’ Director of Player Development, Shawn Respert, will not be returning to Chicago following the 2019-20 season.

This seems to be a call made by Respert himself, citing that he wants to “advance as a coach.” Respert joined the Bulls in the 2017-18 season and has worked with new Director of Basketball Operations Arturas Karnisovas in Houston and at the NBA league office.

Respert also played while Bulls’ Head Coach Jim Boylen was an assistant at Michigan State University.

A lot of changes are coming within the Chicago Bulls coaching staff, training staff, and development staff. Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley have a lot of work on the horizon in order to put the right pieces into place to get the most out of the young talent on the roster.
