Beer Review: Noon Whistle – Smack That Sour Ale

At $7.99 for a four-pack, this is a must try if you’re a sour fan.

It’s that time of the year again when sours start making their comeback. At the local liquor store, I stumbled across “Smack That Sour Ale” by Noon Whistle. Anytime it’s a sour, I am purchasing it.

Smack That Sour Ale is on the dry side but it’s not lacking in flavor. It’s slightly sweet and starts out sour with notes of citrus and grapefruit. There’s a hint of hops towards the end for a mellow finish. The tartness and flavor combination is absolutely elite. For a beer with citrus overtones and medium tartness, this one goes down on the smooth side.

At $7.99 for a four-pack, this is a must-try if you’re a sour fan. I’ve enjoyed other products from Noon Whistle in the past, but this beer just made my summer rotation. If you’re just getting into sours or have been a fan for a while, you must try this out!
