Beer Review: Victory – Liberty Bell Ringer
I love a good double-double. It pours a straight golden color with an airy half inch of foam that leaves very little lacing.
So I’ve finally decided to have another good beer after about a week and a half of only drinking domestics. I’ve found that domestics are cheap and go a long way! Who knew? Anyway, I’ve enjoyed a few Victory beers so when I saw this one for less than $10 in a four-pack, I figured I’d give it a try.
Liberty Bell Ringer is a double dry-hopped double IPA. I love a good double-double. It pours a straight golden color with an airy half inch of foam that leaves very little lacing. It checks in at 8.7% ABV with an IBU rating of 76, both above-average numbers. The aroma is very tropical and contains a lot of pine. The taste is actually pretty unique. It is mostly on the sweet side. The main flavor I’m getting is a smoky, hay, lemon grassy… thing.
I like it. It’s a little bitter but mostly fruity. It’s also different but in a good way. The 8.7% ABV is almost nonexistent, so it’s very easy to drink. I would not hesitate to share this beer with a friend, but not with an enemy because those guys suck.
