May 27th is quite the day in White Sox history. Not only is it the anniversary of the Luis Robert signing and Yoan Moncada’s birthday, but it’s also Frank Thomas’s birthday. The greatest to ever put on a White Sox uniform turns 52 years old today. In celebration, why not take a look back at some of his best moments?
Here’s a throwback to where it all began — Frank Thomas’s first home run in a White Sox uniform. The Big Hurt would go on to hit 448 longballs for the South Siders. He eventually joined the 500-club in 2007 while playing for the Oakland Athletics.
Frank put together a great career on the South Side of Chicago, winning two American League MVP awards and helping the squad win a World Series in 2005. The video below shows The Big Hurt’s career highlights. In a world where COVID-19 is still thriving and a 2020 baseball season might not happen, it’s fun to remember the good times.
Thanks for the memories and happy birthday, Frank!
