Trevor Speights, a Stanford running back, has transferred to Notre Dame to continue his collegiate football career. Speights has been with the Cardinal since 2017. Due to injury, Speights did not play during his senior year in 2019. He entered the NCAA transfer portal in January and announced his commitment to the Irish yesterday.
Speights played in 19 games during his sophomore and junior seasons at Stanford. He did not see the ball too often, racking up just 363 yards and one touchdown on 95 carries. Though not extremely impactful on the field, he could play a big part in the continued development of Jahmir Smith and other young running backs. Adding Speights to the mix will be a nice complement to Jafar Armstrong in the backfield for the 2020 season.
