Per Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, the MLB has reportedly reached a billion-dollar deal with Turner Sports to broadcast the league championship series and playoffs.

The deal, which would not include this season, is still being finalized, according to Jon Heyman.

Additional terms of the contract have not been announced yet, but this comes while the MLB and player’s union have been in a contract fight for the 2020 season and salaries. Needless to say, the MLB playing the “we have no money card” does not seem to make a lot of sense with this deal announced. The current broadcast deal runs through 2021.
